GSG 1911 .22
Now, when you take a glance at the GSG, it is particularly hard to tell whether or not you are looking at a real .45 caliber ACP 1911. To make the difference, you would have to pay attention to the muzzle. Apart from that, it is pretty much identical. The size is also the same, and the frame is incredibly similar and potentially even identical to the Springfield Armor .45 ACP 1911. Of course, there are quite a few things that you might want to take into proper consideration.
Right off the bat, manufacturers used a zinc alloy design for the slide of the GSG 1911 .22. It is a material which is characteristically lightweight, and its attributes for the overall compact appeal that the gun has to bring. At a glance, the frame resembles Parkerized steel, but when you put it close to a magnet, it doesn’t react well which means that it’s some alloy.
Going further in the specs and features of the gun, this is a blowback operated and semi-auto pistol with .22 LR caliber. The latter is conveniently optimized for HV ammunition which is a perk to consider. The length is 8.6 inches while the weight is around 2.15 pounds which are definitely inconsiderable. The gun does feel rather substantial when you hold it. Its weight is one thing you really have to consider.
